esmGUI by Sarnia – addressing multiple challenges

In a heightened threat landscape, how can we deliver the enterprise cyber security that CISOs, the board and regulators demand – and do so in more efficient ways, reducing errors, and making the best use of limited time and resources in the face of a continuing skills shortage?

Enterprise organizations can have multiple ESM databases to maintain, requiring multiple skills sets if mixed ESM types are in place. This can make it extremely tricky to maintain sufficient levels of focus and expertise in-house, and so maintain high levels of efficiency in daily operations. The reality is that repetitive administration tasks when applying the same change over multiple ESM databases can lead to inconsistency and security vulnerabilities when changes are missed or misconfigured.

Build or buy?

Until now, there was no off-the-shelf solution that brought the efficiencies required combined with ease of use, and whilst enabling a high degree of cyber protection. However, in-house and customised solutions can take a great deal of expertise and experience to maintain, while actually being inflexible and taking too much time to update and so respond to changes in the environment. Reporting and standardisation across multiple ESM databases is a time-consuming process usually, with multiple processes involved or taken from daily extracts.

The solution

esmGUI by Sarnia allows you to report across any ESM type and multiple ESM databases simultaneously – to apply changes efficiently, consistently, and with corporate standards applied.

Commands are automatically generated and can be executed or sent for approval. Retrieval of data and changing data requires a greatly reduced amount of ESM specific knowledge enabling new starters to be effective much sooner. Customised scripts can be created easily by selecting from predefined actions and values to be applied can be static or dynamic. Standardisation of multiple security definitions is simple with an unlimited compare function allowing standardisation to be applied to the comparison report to generate commands.
